9/21/2006 - Potential Nominees for Election to the Board of Trustees
For your information, as of 13 September 2006, we have received indication that the following individuals are potential nominees for election by Partners to the AFS International Board of Trustees (Class of 2007-2009):

J. Brian Atwood, USA
Sheryl Dawson, New Zealand
Victor Oporto, Argentina
Reg Smith, Australia
Yuzo Takada, Japan
Steve Wallace, USA
If your organization intends to nominate someone you can let Sandy Mitchell (sandy.mitchell@afs.org) know so that the name can be included on this list. Periodic updates will be posted between now and the nominations deadline.
Partners who intend to nominate (or second) candidates for the International Board of Trustees should be working on completing the nomination papers.
The completed forms (Nominating and Seconding Form; the Candidate Information Form and the Candidate Acknowledgement Form) are requested by Wednesday, 27 September 2006. We strongly encourage Partners to have everything complete and in New York by 27 September, as this will allow time for follow-up if necessary. The absolute deadline for all completed and signed documents to be received by the Corporate Secretary is 5 pm New York time on Monday, 2 October.
Also please note that only one “second” is needed, and only that one will be recorded, for each nomination.
The materials for the 2006 Trustee election process were sent to Partners by courier on 9 August. All the election materials are also posted in the Background Papers and Reports database, under the category “Trustee Election” (document: 2006 Trustee Election).
