1/10/2006 - Educational Results Study: Descriptive Report Now Available
We are pleased to announce that a new full report of the Educational Results study is now available.
This is a descriptive report of all the findings, including an analysis of the contents of the journals submitted by some of the participants as part of the project. It is being distributed as a pdf file via the AFS Warehouse database since it is quite long – 56 pages with the appendices.
How to use the report:
The report is written for internal AFS audiences, and so focuses on what AFS has learned from the study. It concludes with some significant implications for how we think about orientation, volunteer training, and the support of participants and host families. The report is not designed as an academic or marketing report but rather one to lead AFS to a better understanding of the educational strengths of our program and a discussion of what more we want to achieve.
We hope that within each AFS organization a group of key staff and volunteers takes up the challenge to work on intercultural education.
