12/8/2005 - Philanthropic Christmas Concert organized by the Belgian AFS Foundation
The board of the AFS Belgian Foundation (common foundation for both BFR and BFL) is delighted to share with you some pictures of the philanthropic concert organized last Saturday. The program included, a major work of the great compositor Johan-Sebastian Bach: the Christmas Oratorio.
More than 500 people attended this event that took place in one of the most beautiful Roman churches in Brussels. This was made possible thanks to the support of some twenty main sponsors who advertised in the program, but mostly thanks to the help of AFS International and Fundraising Coordination Committee that funded our early win proposal. As a direct return on investment, we are pleased to announce that we were able to raise € 27.000 Euros of which 2/3 will be directly allocated to scholarships.
About 200 VIP invited by private sponsors of the concert, were present. Most of them had never heard about AFS, and this was a very great opportunity to enlarge the visibility of the AFS Foundation and to reach a new donor’s audience. The Foundation also expects mid-term return on this investment.
We thank AFS International for its support, but also all the volunteers who gave us the necessary help to make this concert a high quality event.
