11/5/2007 - Volunteer Participants Travel from Russia and Egypt to Thailand
AFS Thailand successfully organized and welcomed AFS Russia and Egypt Volunteers for two-week visit from August 6 to 20, 2007. The initial orientation was held at the Rama Garden Hotel arranged by AFS Thailand Hosting Director Department led by Ms. Siriluck Burapavichit.
This special program was designed to promote better relationship among AFS Russia, Egypt and Thailand with the aim to increase the number of exchange participants for sending and hosting between the three countries.
AFS Thailand had arranged the trip for the volunteers to the Grand Palace, “Wat Pra Kaew” (the Emerald Buddha image temple), and visiting AFS Thailand National office for Thai culture introduction conference.
Additional visit for AFS Russia volunteers, they had a great opportunity to visit Amnart Charoen Chapter for educational tour hosting by Mr. Jakthip Keela, the chapter president. The Russian group also received special welcome from Mr . Prinya Panthong, Provincial Governor, and Mr. Thani Plukcharoen, Deputy Provincial Governor, who personally met and greeted the group to Amnart Charoen themselves.
Russian volunteers had a wonderful time exploring Thai culture, understanding about Thai educational system and showered with warm hospitality during their stay wherever they visited.
